Our Service & Rates Policy
Octamarine is a high-skill, specialized mobile service. To provide the highest level of professional expertise, we have a clear, transparent policy for our rates and service process. This ensures there are no surprises and that you are in complete control of the process.
Our Process & Rates
We follow a structured, three-step approach for all service calls.
Step 1: On-Site Diagnostic & Consultation
$165.00
This is our standard charge for a mobile dispatch to your vessel and the on-site technical diagnostics, assessment, and consultation required to produce a professional quote.
To secure your appointment on our schedule, this $165.00 fee is required as a non-refundable deposit.
Step 2: Project Quote
Following the on-site diagnostic, our goal is to provide you with a comprehensive, flat-rate quote for the complete, defined scope of the repair. This quote will be based on our $150/hr standard labor rate plus the cost of materials.
Step 3: Client Approval (Service Agreement)
You are in complete control. We will provide you with a clear service agreement that outlines the approved flat-rate quote and scope of work.
No work will begin until we have your signature on the service agreement.
Handling Unforeseen Complications
Marine systems are complex. Our flat-rate quotes are based on the visible and diagnosable issues.
If hidden complications arise during the repair (such as advanced corrosion, inaccessible components, or related undiscovered faults), this is considered outside the original scope of work.
Our Process: We will STOP work immediately, document the new issue, and consult with you directly to provide a change order or a revised quote for your approval. No additional work will ever be performed without your authorization.
Hourly & Custom Work
For complex, custom, or research-intensive jobs where a flat rate is not feasible (such as intermittent electrical troubleshooting or custom fabrication), we will clearly communicate this.
- Standard Labor Rate: $150.00 per hour.
- Billing: Labor is billed in 15-minute increments.
- Approval: This will be clearly communicated and agreed upon before any hourly work begins.
Payment & Terms
- Payment for the initial $165.00 Diagnostic & Consultation is required in advance to secure your appointment.
- Payment for all approved work is due in full upon completion of services.
- For larger, flat-rate projects or refits, a deposit may be required to commence work.
- We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, Zelle, and wire transfers.
